Butterfly Squad creative team inspiration: Natascha
Hi lovely Butterflies,
It's a special kind of post today, as far as the Butterfly Squad is concerned, but I can't tell you why just yet, that will be for tomorrow. For now, enjoy Natascha's latest inspirational post: she always creates from the heart and today is no different! Even if for once, it's not art journaling ;)
Hi Hi sweet Butterflies, Natascha here.
Today I give you a tag as my personal post, I’m still struggling to find my mojo back so I did something small this time.
A tag is always nice to make because you can use it for a lot of things, this one, I’m going to use it as a bookmark for the book I’m reading. You can use a tag to write something on when you hang it on a present for someone or just like a sweet card for someone.
You can use different paper to make your tag from, it’s just what products you want to use on the tag, I use paints and a lot of water so I took Mixed Media paper to work on.
I had a lot of fun making this tag and now I’m going to tell you how I did it, it’s a simple tag but it doesn’t always have to be difficult, right?
Here Is my tag and I hope you like it…….
First I started to put some modeling paste though the honeycomb stencil from France Papillon and let it dry for a night.

Second layer I added Fluid Acrylic Titan Buff on the tag with a sponge, I did 2 layers so I’m sure the color is looking good.

Then I took a lot of different stamps from France Papillon and stamped on the modeling paste. In the other corners and around the hole tag I also stamped some crackles. I stamped everything with Archival Inkt Jet Black because I knew I wanted to play with water on the tag.

I wanted more on my tag and decided to put some Crackle paint on it with a paint brush, this I let dray for A night to get the most beautiful fine crackles.

Now I wanted some color on my tag so I took Fluid Acrylics Titan Buff again to make the white crackle paint match the rest of the tag. Then I took Acrylic Paint Revive and Desert Cactus to make some nice drips over the cracks from the Paint.

Now I think the tag is too bright for me and I wanted to make it more vintage and did that with some Distress Vintage Photo over the tag and over the honeycomb modeling paste I did Achrival Ink Jet Black. This gave me the vintage look I wanted.

Now I can go for my focal point. I stamped a man from the stamp set Auntie,Margot and Co and colored
it in with my Watercolors. I also colored some Cambric in 2 colors and glue that all on the tag with Matte Medium. Also I used a little sticker from Butterfly Whispers Mix Media Stickers MMS3.

I was not happy with the end result for now so I waited a day and take the tag back on my desk and knew what I misted. I took a White sharpie and made some lines around the border. Also I stamped some rounds with white paint. Behind the tag I glue some brown paper to let the tag pop more in the front.
Now I was Happy.
I hope I inspired you to make also a tag when you are out of idea’s.

Big hugs
Natascha xxx
