A layer a day - A spread a week: week 21

Hello lovely Butterflies,

I'm so happy to take you through another A Layer A day challenge!

In case this is the first time you read about the challenge, check out the first blog post on the subject here, where we explain what it is all about.

You can join the fun at any time on the France Papillon and Creative Butterflies facebook group, where lots of alad spreads and in between layers get shared, which will definitely help your mojo to be inspired!

week 21

Talk to your guardian angel

Before writing this post, I would like to insist on the fact that I am not a religious person and that this blog post did not come around based on a religious point of view. As per usual, you can give your own interpretation to this challenge just like with all the alad challenges so far!

Now, onward to the challenge:

I love my guardian angel. Like... seriously. She has a lot of work with me. And more often than not, this is how I envision her...

So I feel it's very important that I express thankfulness on a regular basis towards her to keep her around. She's done a wonderful job so far and I don't know what I would do without her.

To talk to her means looking back at all those moments where things worked out thanks to the influence of forces I don't understand. I like to let that thankful feeling fill me up, to the point where saying thank you, is all I can think about.

What I haven't done so far though, is to try to express that feeling of thankfulness towards her in my art journal. I think it can be a very interesting exercise.

To go about it, I will start with indeed looking back at all those moments where saying thank you to her seems important and let that feeling guide my creativity. I already know that the texture and colors of old angel statues will be my starting point!

Another way to work with this, is to think of one particular event that made you feel like in touch with your guardian angel. Talk to your journal about that event, it will influence your choice of colors, textures and shapes!

You could start by writing about what it is you would like to say to your guardian angel, litteraly write that in your journal and then cover it up to make it your and her secret.

However you want to work with this challenge,

don't forget to be open minded about that first idea that pops in your head.

Who knows, it might have been wispered to you by your guardian angel!

I always love Melina's color work. But when she works around emotions in colors, she takes it to the next level!
