Butterfly Squad creative team inspiration: Kathleen
Hello lovely Butterflies,
I hope you received (and read!) my newsletter yesterday. It contained so many wishes for the new year that 2019 just can not go wrong! It also contained a reminder that the new year of A Layer A Day challenges will start this Saturday, with some new mojo boosting modifications, so I can only hope you will join us.
To kick in this new year, Butterfly Squad member Kathleen has prepared one heck of a tutorial for you. It's just amazing how much depth she can add in her journal, knowing it's still a pretty flat surface. Check it out:
Hi hi sweet Butterflies, Kathleen here!
Happy new year everyone!
A new year with new moments, new lessons, new memories, new challenges, new opportunities so bring it on 2019!
This time I made a journal page, I hope you like the result so let’s play around and see how we get this pages.
Have fun!

I started on a very messy pages from last projects, to “hide” it a bit I started with a thick layer of modeling paste put on with a pallet knife.

I added some paint with a lot of water and worked from the dark color to the light color. I did this several time till I liked it.

I added some crackle paste mixed with the dark color on the edges with the crackle stencil.

All ready liking it but not yet in love… So I added some stamping with a chalky finish paint. A new year mains shine so I added some gold paint with a pallet knife over the pages. And around the edges with the dark color and a pallet knife.
I painted some cambric with the dark color and put a quote from the set Butterfly Whispers cut it with a punch, al little left over paper for the red heart, scribbling a round with a black Uniball Signo pen….
That’s my pages for this time, hope you liked it.

See you back here soon!
Cheers :)
Kathleen
