Butterfly Squad creative team inspiration: Saadia

Hello sweet Butterflies,

Sometimes when looking at art pieces from Butterfly Squad member Saadia, I have to look twice to see just which one of my stamps she used. She has a way of cutting and collage them that changes the look entirely and that gives an end result that makes you which you had thought of doing that! Before looking at the list of products she used, can you recognize the stamps sweet Butterflies? No? Let's read what Saadia has to say about it:

Hi everyone,

I want to share an altered art journal cover with you today. I hope you like it.

Let’s start our project:

This is my small Dylusions journal. Its almost full. I wanted to keep the cover flat and smooth so that the journal is easy to handle and not very heavy.

I started by gluing book pages on the cover with DecoArt's matte medium.

Next, I painted the cover with DecoArt media fluid acrylic in Pyrrole red color.

Then, I applied DecoArt's Weathered wood medium with a palette knife. It is an amazing product and gives beautiful crackle effect.

I applied DecoArt's chalky finish paints (Everlasting and Treasure) with a brush. I wanted to get very light blue color and also some white areas.

Next, I did a bit of background stamping with France Papillon’s ‘London, New York’ stamp set. Also did white heat embossing with the same stamps.

After that I mixed DecoArt's Treasure chalk paint with modelling paste and applied through France's large ‘rectangle’stencil.

Then, I stamped the windmill image from France's ‘London, New York’ stamp set and colored it with fluid acrylics. I cut and arranged them so that they would look like flowers. I glued them with DecoArt's matte medium.

Lastly, I added a sentiment from France Papillon's ‘Perfect words’ stamp set, a border and few rhinestones. Pic 6

That's it for now

I hope you liked my project.

Thank you for visiting

Take care

Saadia Nawaz.
