A layer a day - A spread a week: week 47

Hello Lovely Butterflies!

Saadia will be taking you through a new challenge for the week. I did wanted to remind you though, it only takes 5 minutes a day to put down a layer in your journal. It doesn't need to be complicated, but it can if that's what you feel like doing!

Now in case this is the first time you read about the challenge, check out the first blog post on the subject here, where we explain what it is all about.

You can join the fun at any time on the France Papillon and Creative Butterflies facebook group, where lots of alad spreads and in between layers get shared, which will definitely help your mojo to be inspired!

week 47

This is what Saadia has to say about her challenge:

I want to share with you this week’s ALAD theme.. Timelessness. A very controversial and difficult topic.. I'll not discuss the divine aspect of timelessness.

We consider time to be an important part of our lives. We get so busy planning our lives and thinking about the past and the future that we forget to observe the overall beauty around us. We should try to live in the moment.

I always think about the past, present events and the future but I am trying to change that. I am using my art journal a lot for stress relief. I try to write a lot of my problems in my journal, later I cover it up with paints or book pages. Use of cool colors help me to stay calm.

I hope you will take part in this week’s challenge.

Take care

Here are some wordings to help you further:

1a : not restricted to a particular time or date the timeless themes of love, solitude, joy, and nature — Writer. b : having no beginning or end : eternal. 2 : not affected by time : ageless. 3 archaic : premature, untimely.

As Saadia is talking about our busy planning, I would like to add a side note, one we so often forget,

but which makes us reconsider time in a different way:

So what would you be doing of time was limitless? Where would your hopes and dreams be drawn to? What feelings do time and the pressure of it evoke? How could you counterbalance that to get the feeling of timelessness? Emerge yourself in that feeling and look at what your heart is telling you to put on paper. Oh and don't forget: Have fun!! ;)))

Jane sparked her inner beauty last week as she shared her take on her challenge!

Did you see all her in between steps on the Facebook group?
