Butterfly Squad creative team inspiration: Natascha
Hi Hi sweet Butterflies, Natascha here.
I´m one of the new team members and so happy to show you my first personal project.
I had a MDF heart in my stash and I wanted to work with it. I had never worked on wood so let me show you how I built up my layers en see for yourself the final result.
I hope you like it…..
The first thing I did was to gesso the heart, because I didn´t know what the paint would do on plain wood.

Next I added with a make up sponge a layer of Antiquing Cream Patina Green and let it to dry.

I added Weathered Wood Crackle medium and then a layer of Chalky Finish Vintage. This gave me extremely small crackles and I wanted to see larger crackles. So then I did some Patina Green through some Crackle Paste and did it through the Crackled stencil from France . Now I was happy.

My heart was ready for so far. So now I worked on my focalpoint. I colored some Cambric with Chalky Finish Caméo and on top of that I put some fabric out of my stash. For my quote I used a stamp from “Perfect Words”. Over there I stamped little crackles with the stamp from “Rock´n Rust”.

All this I glued it with Heavy Gel Medium on the heart and gave it a really good dry. Last but not least I put some raffia through the holes so I can hang it on the wall and my heart is finished.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Big kisses from me xxx
