Butterfly Squad creative team inspiration: Kathleen

Hi hi sweet Butterflies, Kathleen here!

Yeah already a new project in my art journal to share with you. I hope you like the result so let’s play around and see how we get this done.

Have fun!

First I applied a layer of gesso with a brush and covered the page. Then I applied a layer of paint and some water to make them more fluid. I also added tiny drops of golden paint to make the page shine. I did it several times untill I liked it.

To give the pages some structure I applied several layers with modeling paste through the rectangles and circles stencils.

I played around with crackle paint on top of the modeling paste.

I added some stamping with the crackle stamp and the little number stamp with a white ink.

I coloured some cambric with cobalt teal hue paint and some water. For the heart I applied a thick layer modeling paste with the heart from the rectangles stencil. On top of the heart I put some crackle paint and coloured it with golden paint.

I stamped the text on white cardstock and embossed it, then I painted it with cobalt teal hue. I also distressed the edges and coloured them with golden paint.

I couldn’t resist myself when I saw my sewing machine and added some sewing.

I coloured the rectangles with the same colours of the background and my page was done.

That’s my page for this time, hope you like it.

See you back here soon!

Cheers :)

Kathleen
