Hello fellow Butterflies!
It´s Melina here today sharing a mixed media tag with you.
When this post goes live, I´m sitting in the sun in Spain, enjoying a holiday with my family :)
Hope you are all fine wherever you are today!
Here´s what I did:
This tag started it´s life as a place to put medium leftovers from another project.
I have stamped off the windmill stamp from Illusionary Artists stamp set London New York.
I have also added some DecoArt modeling paste coloured with Fluid Acrylic Orange Pyrrole through the France Papillon stencil Crackles. This layer got a thin coat of DecoArt gesso.
Then I added Fluid Acrylics diluted with water that was left on my craft sheet in Raw Umber, Quinacridone Gold and Blue Green Light. Then I had my background done!
I continued by stamping the man from Auntie Margot stamp set and the butterfly from the Creepers and Crawlers stamp set onto watercolour paper using Sepia Archival ink. I cut out both images and coloured the man using very diluted Blue Green Light and Quina.Gold fluid acrylics.
I added Phthalo Turquoise to the background, darker to the upper left and bottom right corners and more diluted towards the middle.
I sanded down the modeling paste slightly to reveal some of the orange colour.
I glued the butterfly to the mans back as wings, added him to the tag making him stand on a piece of cambric to ground him. The cambric is coloured with Quinacridone Gold and Raw Umber, and I put some black thread underneath.
I used a scrap piece of cambric and glued it in the hole of the tag. I went around the whole tag with black Distress ink to frame it.
Finally I added a word from the Illusionary Artists stamp set Perfect Words and my tag is finished.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Take care and see you in a while, hugs
Melina
