Butterfly Squad creative team inspiration: Kathleen
Hi hi sweet Butterflies, Kathleen here!
Already a new project in my art journal to share with you. I hope you like the result so let’s play around and see how we get this page done.
Have fun!
First I applied a layer of gesso with a pallet knife and covered the page with black paint in combination with tinting base to get a grey look. Then I applied a layer of weathered wood over the whole page and when that was dry I painted it with titan buff and the result became a page filled with lovely crackles.

To give the pages some structure I applied circles with a stencil from France with black modeling paste.

I played around with a stamp with grey and white ink and I added splatters on the page with gold paint.

I took some cambric and coloured it with diluted black paint. To make the heart I took a piece of cardstock, I applied a thick layer of black modeling paste with the stencil from France. I coloured it with gold paint and I cut it out. I stamped the text on white cardstock and embossed it, then I painted it with gold, distressed the edges and coloured the edges with black ink. I also distressed the edges of the pages. Glued it all together and my pages were done.
That’s my spread for this time, I hope you like it.

See you back here soon!
Cheers :)
Kathleen
