A layer a day - A spread a week: week 16

Hello butterflies,

This time I get to challenge you myself to put down a layer a day, to create a page a week!

In case this is the first time you read about the challenge, check out the first blog post on the subject here, where we explain what it is all about.

You can join the fun at any time on the France Papillon and Creative Butterflies facebook group, where lots of alad spreads and in between layers get shared, which will definitely help your mojo to be inspired!

week 16

What would you like to say to your inner critic?

Oh the power of that little voice... You know, the one you keep hearing in the back of your head while creating?

Sometimes she sounds nice, says lovely things and encourages you. But more often than not, she's trying to take you down, to drown all your courage and to make you just walk away from your journal...

Because it's never good enough, because you messed it up, because what the heck do you think you're doing??

And because very often, what starts off as critic of our art, ends up as critic of our own being!

OK. ENOUGH.

This time, we're going to talk back! Loud and clear!

What would you like to say to that little voice? Take over control, get clear with your intentions and put those on paper! Because when we finally manage to do that, that's when our creative self-confidence grows!

Accepting that what goes on the paper doesn't always match (or should I say rarely matches!!) what we had in mind, is the first step to silencing that voice.

Trust that first idea that pops in your mind, tell your inner critic to go bother some weed outside and just follow the flow of putting that first idea on paper.

You might realize that, when you silence that little voice, it get's pretty quite up there. Don't worry, breathe, be calme and... just listen! You will hear new things!

Once you make space for that calmness, you will find what it is you want to say to that little voice next time it starts to take over everything. But when that happens, you will be prepared!

Your mic is on.

It's your time to talk!

So journal your heart out

and take back your creative self-confidence!

Veerle invited you to work withing a circle last week and like I said, I was in for a treat looking at all your spreads on the France Papillon and Creative Butterflies facebook group! Circles are my favorite!
