It's my turn on the Mixed Media Place blog to share a little piece with you.
Thinking that there is no such thing as too much texture, I just followed the flow on how many mixed media products I wanted to layer on top of each other. This led to an atc triptych... which was a lot of fun to make!

C'est mon tour de vous montrer une petite réa sur le blog Mixed Media Place.
En me disant qu'il n'y a rien de tel que trop de texture, j'ai suivi mon mojo sur la quantité de produits mixed media que je peux mettre les uns sur les autres. Ce qui m'a mené vers un tryptique d'atc... que je me suis bien amusée à faire!
The base is done to obtain a bubble texture: a layer of gesso, leave to dry. Then a generous layer of 3D gel and without leaving it to dry, another layer of watered down heavy gesso. Dry with a heat gun and this will create bubbles by heating the air trapped in between the layers.
The second layer (or forth if you count them all!) is touches of white crackle texture paste, applied here and there with a palet knife. For the third layer I dropped micro beads in the still wet crackle paste and left everything to dry.
La base est faite afin d'obtenir des bulles: une couche de gesso, laisser sécher. Puis une couche généreuse de gel 3D et sans la laisser sécher, une autre couche de gesso. Séchez au heat gun et cela créera des bulles en chauffant l'air coincé entre les couches.
La seconde couche (ou quatrième si vous les comptez toutes!) sont des touches de pâte à craquelure blanches, appliquées par-ci par-là à l'aide d'un couteau. Pour la troisième couche, j'ai laissé tomber des micro billes dans la pâte encore humide et j'ai laissé sécher le tout.
The forth layer is a thin layer of watered down heavy gesso to unify everything. Once dry, I diluted a little bit of Snapdragon and Wine and Roses Primary Elements with water and a pinch of Clear Glaze. I applied it with a thin paintbrush and sprayed some more water over it to blend it.
La quatrième couche est une fine couche de gesso dilué afin d'unifier le tout. Une fois sec, j'ai dilué un peu de Primary Elements Snapdragon et Wine and Roses dans de l'eau et un peu de Clear Glaze. Je l'ai appliqué à l'aide d'un pinceau fin et j'ai aspergé un peu d'eau afin de fusionner le tout.
I added some stamping, some sewing and some Black soot distress ink on the edges. Only thing left to do was to add a focal element et... voilà!
J'ai rajouté quelques tampons, un peu de couture et un peu d'encre distress Black soot sur les bords. La dernière chose à faire était de rajouter l'élément central et... voilà!
